We Are in Space was inspired by a chance Instagram post spotted one evening late with the quote by legendary artist Dallas Clayton, "We are in Space, I don't know what's going on. I love you." I reached out to him and asked permission to use it in this song, and he said yes. The song is about the complexities, beauty, and wonder of a long-term relationship.

Album cover of two people speeding through a desert at night on a foreign planet.

Look at me with dreamy eyes
It makes me feel alive inside
Circumference me and you
A narrative that’s unreal
Take me with we need to go
To sunny skies with rain and snow
And weightless colors beckons us
To bath in what’s surreal

We are in space
I don’t know what’s going on
But I love you
I love you
We are in space
I don’t know what’s going on
But I love you
I love you
Give me the cool and the surreal
I’ll stick with you through thick and thin
Thunder will come we will be safe
Hidden in our secret place
We are in space
I don’t know what’s going on
But, I love you

Many moons have come and gone
What’s  felt like death is genuine love
And if you asked again today
Again, I will say yes
Many summers followed fall
Again, again I fall for you
So take my hand and count us down
The best is yet to come

The stories that we call our own are far beyond us
Wonder and grace and pain collide
Our frequencies so frequently disrupt
the peace we’re chasing
But I’ll choose you till end of time
